© An Ozonater Production 2010 Digital x-rays provide dentists with a fair  number of advantages. If you've ever had  conventional x-rays done at the dentist you  know that it takes some time to get the  results back. There are any number of  variables in the process, from the placement  of the x-ray to the film quality to the  developer, which has even more variables  involved. Proper maintenance and training  lessens the chances of one of these variables  causing problems but anything can happen.  With digital x-rays, the need for a darkroom,  developer machine and chemicals is eliminated, making the results virtually  instantaneous!    Digital x-ray technology also allows the picture to be taken with the use of around     one-tenth less radiation than conventional x-rays. But the single greatest advantage  is that it allows for superior diagnosis capability. Digital x-rays can be enhanced  instantaneously, allowing the dentist to magnify, alter the contrast on any possible  problem. This allows for a speedier and more thorough diagnose than conventional  x-rays can provide.
